Valium (Diazepam) Drug Interactions
Majority of anti-anxiety medications, including Valium (Diazepam), have sedative effect. That is why it shouldn't be taken alongside drugs with similar effects.
Do not use Valium if you are already taking such medications as Nizoral (cimetidine), Tagamet (ketoconazole), Prilosec (omeprazole), Dilantin (phenytoin); drugs from barbiturate family (Parnate, Nardil, Azilect, and others); antidepressants (Elavil, Janimine, Pamelor, Paxil, Sarafem and others); narcotic medications (Dolophine, Lortab, Vicodin, Methadose, ant others). If you still need to take one or some of these medication due to you conditions, but you also need to take Valium (Diazepam), consult your doctor first. In such cases, your daily dosage of Valium (Diazepam) should be lowered.
