Diazepam Side Effects
Most common side effects of Valium (Diazepam) are fatigue, drowsiness and loss of balance. Paradoxically, but sometimes, though very rare, Valium can cause opposite reactions to those treated by Valium, such as rage, excitability, muscle spasms and sleep disorders. Normally, Valium (Diazepam) doesn't cause allergic reactions such as rash and itching, however patients who are too susceptible to diazepam can have such unusual reactions. Confusion, double vision and speech problems are also rare side effects on taking Valium (Diazepam). This is not the full list of side effects, but if you notice any unusual reaction or symptom, you should immediately inform your doctor for medical advice.
Valium (Diazepam) can cause physical addiction, especially if it is taken in higher doses for a long-term treatment. So, if you want to stop taking medication it is recommended to lower dosage gradually in order to avoid withdrawal symptoms, such as headache, vomiting, insomnia, fatigue, anxiety and nausea. In any case, whatever the withdrawal symptoms are, they can be unpleasant and harmful, so it is better to cease taking Valium (Diazepam) only under doctor's supervision.
